day 07 & 08
October 14, 2012
I'm gonna say my little sister on this one. She has the ability to make me want to change in an instant with her wise words. She inspires me to be a good role model for her. She is kind, funny and so sweet- even if we do argue over her taking my clothes and makeup every day. i know when i ever need anyone, she will be there. I wouldn't be who i am today if it wasn't for her. Then there is Luke, who has also had a similar impact on my life since he entered it. I love the two of them to bits xxx
Day 08- Short term goals for this month and why?
okay, my main goal this month is to sort myself out! I want to lose the stone that i've put back on, so this month is the start of my diet ready for holiday in Feb. Not only my weight, but i need my skin regime back on track, and also my teeth whitening regime for that matter. i used to be so strict before i started going out/ working late/early, and i'm just finding it so hard to force myself to get my makeup off/ scrub my face and teeth when all i wanna do is get to sleep. :( so that;s my main goal for this month.
a couple of smaller ones such as wanting to sort out my wardrobe, makeup and hair are goals of this month too. I think my hair is so bland at the minute, and i'm desperate to go lighter, with a few highlights, and my makeup needs to be sorted because i seem to look in the mirror everyday and just not feel comfortable. i can't quite place what it is, but i need to sort it!
and the last is probably my want to make up with my friends. no, i haven't fallen out with them, but i don't see them a quarter as much as i used to. yes, they will say it's because i have a boyfriend now, but no- it's more to do with the fact that i work so much, and all i want to do when i finish or have a day off is have time to myself! i'm going out with one friend from college for a couple of cocktails tonight which should be nice so i have at least started this goal! hehe.

Day 06
October 12, 2012i'm not into the whole superhero thing.. i never have been. Is spiderman a super hero? gah, i don't think so? well i'm gonna say Wonder Woman because it's the only one that i can think of right now. actually, it reminds me of a scene off The OC where Rachel Bilson dresses up as her and looks totally stunning and i always look at her in awe and wish i could look even a smidge as good as she does. this is what i'm talking about;

I know that this isn't much to do with the original question, but like i said, i'm not into heroes. sorry!
in other news, i'm ill. and i'm spotty. and i'm having such a fat day & i've got a 7 hour shift. :'(
i am also going to Alton Towers tomorrow dressed up as a doll;
this is the makeup that i've practiced. I've wanted to do it for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity. it's the scarefest at alton towers so instead of opting for the scariness, i think i'm gonna put some scars going up from the corner of my mouth and possibly a 'crack' on my head, paired with a pretty Alice and Wonderland dress. just one dilemma- what shoes do i wear with long white socks?! i need your help.let me know, xox

Day 05
October 11, 2012
i've chose New York as my picture for today cos it's the best place i've ever been. i'm pretty sure of it. and i think this was probably my favourite place that we saw in the whole 5 days of being there-- macy's and toys'r'us came pretty close though. I absolutely loved it there- we stayed in the hotel that Borat was filmed, and did every tourist-thing imaginable.
i can't name every country i've visited, but places such as Mexico, Dominican Republic and Italy (in winter) would come in my top 10 for sure.

day 03 & 04
October 10, 2012anywho, sorry about skipping a day- but here it goes.
Day 03-- A picture of you and your friends;

this was a long time ago-- like earlier last year i think, but i love this picture. It was taken in Revolution in Nottingham and I cannot even remember going into there.. it was one crazy night (like any nights when Grace is involved). These two are probably my most valued friends, sometimes i just wish i could see them more..
as far as other friends go, obviously i have a few, but my best friends have to be these two;

my sister and my boyfriend. sad but true. <3
this is another picture that i absolutely love. it was on the way to Skegness in the back of my dad's car. we were having so much fun and it was actually a really good day. xox
day 04- A habit that you wish you didn't have;
god, i don't even know about this one?
erm, i guess the only one that i can think of right now (cos im about to try duck for the first time, ew), is the fact that i always overthink about the food im eating. for example, the duck that im about to eat-- where did it live? how was it killed? haha, im so sad but i get put off things so easily. I always think about things such as 'how dirty is the kitchen that my food as cooked in?' and 'ew, i wonder who else has drank out of this glass/cup?' and then it puts me off. im strange, yes, but that's the only thing that i could think of haha.
back tomorrow! xox

Day 02
October 8, 2012haha, pretty simple- it's my name!
it was 'ordinary girl' before, and that was because I was embarrassed to put my feelings/thoughts out in the open for people to see so i didn't want anyone to know who i was. then i figured 'who cares' and started to spread zee word about this blog and anyone who has read it have praised it. i'm glad that i can put my thoughts somewhere, and hope to help people with my reviews just like people have helped me in the past. I also hope that this 30 day challenge gives you guys a better understanding of me and i want you all to do this with me!

Fake Bake 60 Minute tanning lotion
October 7, 2012How does it work, you're asking? Well it contains certain ingredients that speed up the developing time, giving you that look you want for a lot less of the time.
First thoughts when I put it on were that it smells/goes on exactly like every other fake bake I've ever tried-- and if any of you have actually read any of my posts about fake bake before, you'll know that I'm not their biggest fan. I find that I don't get the same results that everyone else gets. My tan always just seems to go up by one shade and has a greeny-tinge to it. Not very attractive.
Here are the results:
so there you have it- the proof is in the pudding right there. I'm impressed with this fake tan purely because it really does do what it claims. I like the scent of it- not too overwhelming, and the consistency is okay- although it dries a little too quickly sometimes for my liking and can leave you with a line where you can't blend it in properly.. but that would be my only downside.
The lotion comes with a pink (!) tanning mitt, so obviously that made me happy cos i love anything pink, but I have a problem with mitts cos i think they usually soak up too much of the tan, but i'm learning to deal with it, haha.
anyway, i would definitely recommend this tan to anyone.
have you tried this yet? do you want to try it? what do you think?
lots of love, xox

Mememe makeup review, xox
October 7, 2012heyyyy! wowzers, it feels so good to be able to type on an actual laptop instead of trying to update this on my phone! If anyone has every tried to update their blog via a mobile site, you'll know that as you type, your blog is still registering the last sentence you wrote, so it's very time consuming and takes forever to correct any mistakes! I'd really like to see Yola create a smart phone app to make this more accessible and easier.. please! on-the-go blogging,woo.
anywho, this post wasn't for me to sit here and talk crap, it was for me to review a few products I have bought this week. If you have read any of my posts this week, you'll know that good old Lukey has bought me a little surprise bless him. It was only a deal on groupon, but he knows me so,so well. The deal was a voucher for £45 of Mememe makeup for the price of £18 (not inc. P+P, which was only around £4). yay.
Firstly, I decided to try their foundation (Flawless finish cream foundation, £12.50)..
I was a little sceptical to buying this as I'm not a fan of brands who only have one range of a product (i.e. if someone only has one blusher etc) cos I think that one foundation can't suit an entire population. I usually tend to look for foundations that have certain claimed qualities- for example; one that is good for oily skin/ help to prevent shine etc. this aside, i popped into my local superdrug so that i can make sure i get the right shade (which turned out to be Honey Lush- cute name). I did a swatch of this on my hand and realised that it had a real good consistency-- I love a thick foundation cos my skin is so uneven. Impressed, off i went and ordered this little beauty online.
here's the swatches from when i'd first got the foundation-- i have no fake tan on etc, so the colour looks a little too dark for my skin tone, but i always have some form of a tan so it's actually a perfect shade for me.
my first thoughts when i got it were a little negative.. I'd not long woken up, hadn't moisturised from the night before, so my skin was a little dry, and i just excitedly applied it with my fingers using a tiny mirror that i had handy... not such a good idea. i must have been sat in an awkward position to the light, and the lack of moisture and primer my skin had had that morning made the foundation look somewhat cakey and bought out the dryness in my skin. disheartened by this product, i put it down and decided i'd try it when i have a little more time on my hands..
I've now been wearing it non-stop this week and i absolutely love it. I put it on top of Dr Feelgood by Benefit, and mix it with Soap and Glory's Hocus Focus (which i love) which gives it a creamy consistency, giving you enough coverage for daytime, although i would probably mix it with another thicker foundation for evening time. Again, the packaging has all the right things to be very similar to other expensive foundations, but the fact that the bottle is plastic makes it seem tacky if you ask me. I would much rather have seen it glass..
with the voucher, I also bought myself two lip creams.. (long wear satin lip creams, £6.50 each, in China Rose and Coral Cloak).
as you can see from the first picture above, they come in cute little boxes and have their own little names-- and have a beautifully elegant pattern on them which continues onto the packaging of the actual lip cream itsself (the third picture in). Out of all the things i got, these have got to be my favourite and the ones that i have used the most-- the packaging is just so expensive looking that it makes me proud to whip it out! haha. As you can see, the coral is the brighter of the two, with the pink being a very subtle daytime colour, which i believe would compliment any skin tone. Pinks dont usually suit me, so when i tried this on i was very happy to see that it was a perfect match for me. i wear it literally every day cos it just adds a little more glamour into the day without making me seem like i've tried too hard. As for the coral colour, it is the perfect accompaniment to a tan, and looks great on a night out, especially on pictures! yeah, i totally love these little babies..

just look how cute the packaging is! how can anyone not like them?! haha. They glide on your lips, just like 'satin' i suppose, and they last for a couple of hours before they start disappearing from the inside of your lips outwards-- but they are the perfect shape to fit any lips, making it possibly the easiest lipstick i've ever put on, so the fading makes no odds to me cos i find that i can reapply anywhere.
as well as these, i needed a new concealer, so I went ahead and bought Correct and Perfect in Nude, £6.99.

It's the perfect concealer for those days where you need to chuck your makeup in your bag cos you know you're gonna need a touch up in a couple of hours.. that's most days for me! this little wonder comes in a tiny pot, with a handy mirror in the lid and a 'setting powder' underneath the creamy concealer itsself. impressive to say the least! The concealer is lovely and thick, with a creamy texture to it. I mainly use it along with Benefit's Lemonaid (i think thats what it's called) to cover the bags under my eyes-- working is not all that fun afterall.. I really do like it, and the powder that comes with it is perfect for setting it and works really well in my opinion.
With the amount that i had left over after getting these, i could afford a new blusher...
i love the packaging of this product. It's simple, elegant and looks somewhat expensive despite the cardboard they use to make it.. and i didn't actually realise until taking the pictures for this review that it has a small mirror in the lid of it. I found this highly impressive cos it makes it 100% easier to touch up on the go. You get a brush with it, like many boxed blushers, but I'm not a fan of them cos i find that the short, stubby bristles are too harsh on my cheeks and they're too wide, giving me an overload of blusher that i really didn't want. anyway, i love this product (despite the brush) because the powder comes apart from the rest very easily, meaning you only have to get a tiny bit onto the brush. I also love the fact that there is a mirror in the lid because i've never seen that happen before on a blusher.
I got the coral shade of the product because i've not got one that colour, but i find it's way too bright for my complexion. I love the way (like i already said) that it glides on easily, but i feel like the colour is too much, so im gonna go get a different colour of it instead.
i hope this helped! has anyone else tried this?
let me know,
xox

-.-
October 2, 2012not much else to tell you really. i've realised that since i've started working practically full-time, i've became so boring. literally, in my spare time, i catch up on soaps/series i've missed, wear my pyjamas, and eat takeaways. i feel like im going through my mid life crisis.. i did go out for a 'few drinks' with the crew from work... a 'few' to me means we won't predrink, but we'll have double the tequilla slammers and drink triples instead of doubles to get drunk.. pointless. it was very messy and i ended up stumbling into bed gone 4am to a very mad lukey (who i had promised id be home at 1am at the latest.. oops). Saturday, i was absolutely dying.. literally. i couldn't move. i finally got my head out of my pillow when i remembered that i had to cash my cheque that mr. tax man finally gave me and the bank closed at 1, so i forced a myself up and trapsed to the bank. i had to get luke to drive cos i knew i was in that stage where you're still a bit drunk but getting more and more hungover by the second.. ew. anyway, long and short of it, i stayed in my pyjamas with my quilt on the sofa watching films all day, finishing it off with a delicious dominos pizza. omnom.
anyway, i need a cuppa and some chocolate. diet begins tomorrow.
lots of love xox
