mememe/ Groupon deal. thankyou very much!
September 21, 2012
Just thought I'd let you all know about this great deal on Groupon that i was told about yesterday.. I'm pretty sure it's still available to purchase quickly-- but you pay £18 and you get to spend £45 on their makeup range! I'm lucky cos Luke bought me the voucher itself, so I only had to pay the post and package and overflow of the £45. So, so impressed with this!
I hate buying makeup offline usually, cos I think the swatches that they provide are unrealistic and look nothing like that when they arrive into my wanting hands, so to avoid this, I nipped into my local Superdrug, (the only place that i am aware of that stock Mememe products), and had a peek at there stuff. It seemed better to try out their things in person cos i'm so fussy with foundations and shades, so hopefully i've remembered the right one! anyway, i'll be reviewing these things as soon as they come so keep an eye out for that!
lots of lovesss xoxo

a 'few' new bits and bobs..
September 17, 2012
heyyyyy.
as you might know if you have me on facebook/ instagram, Ive been so busy this last two weeks.. I've been to Sheffield with my mum and sister, Luke has taken me on a surprise trip to Birmingham, I went to the seaside with my family and then have generally been here, there and everywhere.. and that's not even including work. So I haven't had a chance to get my sister's laptop (yes mine is still broke) and let you see a few things i've bought. so here it goes!

this dress caught my eye when I was cutting through Primark some time last week.. This was a dangerous call, because as you will see soon, this is what made me spend £40, because once I start, I just can't stop! hehe. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was 'me'. As you should all know, I'm soooo into lace and floaty materials-- so this dress was right up my street. It looks, in my opinion, so feminine and doesn't look like it would only cost £10, especially when I teamed it with a black blazer, tights and some black heels. What I also liked about this is the fact that you get a vest with it to go underneath, as otherwise it's completely see-through.. but I've found that in the past, dresses just do not come with underlayers, and you can never find something to go underneath them; e.g. they are always the wrong colour or length..

Next to the dress I just spoke about above was this lovely purple-grey, lace skater skirt, £7. I'm not usually a fan of these on myself as I have big hips and they are sooo not flattering on my figure, but i love to see them on other girls, but I loved the colour and the pattern so I figured I would give it a go. I teamed it with a black and white striped top and threw my blazer over the top and everyone complimented me on how nice i looked, but like i said, it didn't flatter my hips one bit, so i would probably never wear it without a jacket/cardigan, but i still love it!

I picked up this dress when I was in Meadowhall, again from Primark, for £13. I needed a few casual dresses that I can throw on to go shopping/ out for lunch and this just seemed perfect! it looks so cute underneath a chunky knit with some brogues and i'm so excited to wear this over the next coming months.

I saw this top in Republic and couldn't decide on whether i wanted it at first, but i figured 'what the hell' and got it anyway, and im really glad that i did. For some reason, i had a niggling feeling to get a bigger size than i usually would, and i'm happy i did seeing as it's still a little snug.. I can't remember how much exactly it was, but from republic, it's not gonna be expensive really is it? I love the pattern on it- im not usually a fan of skulls, but i think this is really in at the moment so figured i'd give it a go. it looks good with everything! such a versatile colour..

okay, so this is the maxi skirt i got from a small boutique near where i live, which was £10. I've been looking for a maxi this colour for a long while now, and whenever i've found one, they have been like £40 and i'm not really willing to spend that on a skirt that i know i won't get much use out of.
to the right of it is my new dressing gown what lukey got me. it's soooo comfy and as you all know, im obsessed with leopard print.. it's the perfect dressing gown. <3

as i've just said, leopard print is my favourite thing ever, so when I saw these two pairs of shoes, I needed them. I am yet to wear the heels as I've not been out this week surprisingly, but the flats are so comfy!
as for makeup- i have purchased a fair few bits but I had these two at the side of me this morning, so figured i'd show you how they work,,
First of all- Look Beauty's BB cream..

I've had their foundation before, and I really did rave about it. It has such a good coverage and glides on so nicely. When i saw that they had a BB cream out and it was half price, i figured it couldn't be bad, so i gave it a try.
This is before and after:

Before; i have a really uneven complexion, with a lot of red patches on my face, so i always look for a high coverage foundation..
after; as you can see, it definitely covered a lot of my flaws.. to say that this is only a BB cream and not a foundation, you have to admit that it's pretty darn good.. I've tried a few others, and I wasn't all that impressed, so this is definitely the best one i have tried yet! It definitely brightens up my skin 100%.
I also kept seeing this mascara being advertised, and since I am forever being complimented on my eyes, and being told that they are my best feature, i was eager to try it.

It is the new Max Factor Eye Brightening mascara.. obviously I got the one for blue eyes..
first thoughts when i bought this were 'how can this really work?' and I am sort of still left wondering this.. Here is a before and after:

As you can see- it is clear that it definitely lengthens and defines your eyelashes, but I am not convinced that it made me eyes 'pop' as such.. I am definitely impressed with how it makes my eyelashes look though, and I will continue using it as a base to get my lashes long, but then i will probably use a normal mascara to give it a little more oopmh. anyway, the colour of this mascara is a glistening blue colour with glittery pigments trapped inside, which sound nice, and are more flattering to blue eyes than the original black mascara. meh, like i said, i will definitely keep using this as a normal mascara, but it did nothing in my opinion to make my eyes any brighter,
have you guys tried either of these? what do you think of the clothes i've bought?

uni open days make me want to study!
September 17, 2012
Working at the University, I am constantly surrounded by dedicated students with the will to learn.. I've got to say, this has never been an appealing thing to me since leaving college, but I think it's down to the fact that I simply don't know which career path to go down.. I have a few ideas, but until I've decided which one, I'm not gonna waste all that money on something I am not 100% certain on! I've decided until then, I'm gonna crack on and redo my A-levels, because although I did pass them originally, I would prefer to have a few higher grades so that I can get into a more prestigious university..
what do you guys think? don't think i'm gonna go all smart on you!

full bellyyyy & an order to relax.
August 23, 2012As you can see, today I have clearly been working so hard.. I joke. It was at 8am this morning, and I figured you guys haven't seen me in my work uniform yet, so here it is! muwaha, it feels so funny to have a Starbuck's uniform of my own considering that I've alwaysssss wanted to work there! hehe. so yeah, over the last few days, I've been feeling totally under the weather.. I'm having chest pains, breathing difficulties, and as we speak, I seem to be developing a pretty harsh cough. boohoo poor me. after consulting not one, but two doctors in the past two days, it seems to be nothing major, and there is 'nothing' they can do about it but send me home with the order to rest, take it easy and take ibuprofen.. Being bedridden for more than two hours is already killing me, and luckily I have a day off work tomorrow so thankfully I don't have to call in sick, but I can tell that it's gonna be a very, very long day. I'm hoping that I can get some reviews done along with a few before/after pictures. Also, I'm meant to be going out for dinner with Lukey tomorrow, which means, unless I feel completely crappy, then I have alllllll day to make myself look wonderful! haha.
It's not just me that has the new job either; lukey has finally got a proper job away from the shithole that they call 'tesco'. yayay. So seeing as he does 7 days a week now, I feel that I should repay him by making his dinner-- so here is what I've made for tonight..
I'm no culinary genius, so tonight was just a cheese and tomato pasta bake along with spicy wedges.. of course, there had to be pudding (cos i'm ill), so I got a huge chocolate mess sort of thing that was sooo sickly, but I'm not gona lie- it definitely cheered me up! mmm. and we even treated ourselves to a fab afterwards..mmm, cheeky!
Okay, so now I'm gonna chill and watch a little tv, then I guess I'll get this 'rest' that claims to make me feel better!

iPhone post!
August 22, 2012Hey guys!!
I've just found out that I can now post on here via my phone. It's pretty exciting
although it's so, so slow!
Im gonna keep this short and sweet as its kinda irritating me that this is even more slow than a grandma on a pedestrian crossing, so I will finish this shortly & grab my sister's laptop and blog some more.
I took this picture as I don't usually wear my hair all up and if I do, then I ensure my makeup is what some people (most people) would consider as a little OTT fort daytime wear!
Yeah so I made a promise to myself to stop wearing so much makeup. I made it for a few reasons, but I guess the main two are that I hate looking in the mirror before I go out on a night out, or for a meal and thinking that I practically look the same as I do for work give or take a few bits. Not just that, but my skin could do with a bit of a break from ll the crap that I subject it to.
So today, I literally put on Nivea moisturiser with jojoba (THE best moisturiser ever!) & added Natural Collection's loose powder in warm (£1.99 from any Boots store) and added a touch of 17Glow Job bronzer (also from Boots) for a bit of warmth and to join the 'sun kissed beauty' that I constantly keep seeing everywhere. Also, I skipped the eyeliner to go for that 'girly' edge and wore a few layers of vava voom mascara (17, Boots) and then a final layer of Rimmel's scandalise just to top it off!
Right, I hope you enjoyed this post & I'll be back later for another!
lots of love, Jessie xox

once upon a time..
August 18, 2012
Once upon a time, there was a girl who actually wrote on this blog on a daily basis. Where has she gone?
Growing up is such a hard thing & I guess it's time that I face facts and realise I can't stay a baby forever!
I know that it's been a couple of months since my last post, and i do apologise for that but i'm back, and i'm back for good this time! This week I have given in my notice at Tesco, meaning my last shift is tomorrow! I'm so excited seeing as I practically hate it there anyway- but now i will probably have more time to actually live my life! i haven't had a full day off for like 2 months and next week I have two full days off! exciteeeedddd!
anyway, this isn't gonna be a long one cos it's getting late, and I've been working all day so as you can imagine, I am shattered and my eyes have a mind of their own.
Here are a few pictures that I've managed to save from my broken laptop --(yep, another reason why it's been so hard to update this recently- thanks mayz..) I guess they are pretty self-explanatory, so i'll leave you to look. Obviously, if you want to see a few more, add me up on Facebook, Twitter (starbuck_xox) or Instagram (Jessieestarbuck).

also, just before I go- I've started decorating false nails.. so when i get a spare minute tomorrow evening, i'll pop up some pictures. there are already a few on facebook and instagram so take a quick peep!
lots of love,
Jessie#

Hair drama.
June 4, 2012
Hey guys.
This is just a quick post really. I've cut off all my hair to about shoulder length and I'm really not sure if I like it just yet. Looking at pictures, I seriously love my long hair, but it was boring me so much that (admittedly in the spur of the moment) I just cut it off. Right now I'm looking at that picture to the right where I have my fringe.. I reeeeally want it back, but seeing as I'm going on holiday soon, I won't be able to control it in the daytime unless someone creates some miraculous straighteners-to-go. Highly unlikely! Ugh. I just look in the mirror & feel so boring! I also really want highlights or something. Oh my. Someone just sort me out. Pleeease.
So what's everyone doing to celebrate the Jubilee holidays?
Lots of love xox
